The Phoenix Fine Arts Gallery was happy to host a reception on Sunday in honor of award winning artist Steven Klein.  Steven is this year’s winner for the poster contest for the  “Bellport Bay Festival and Regatta” 2007. The poster is a limited edition print and we are honored to feature an award-winning artist like Steven Klein, “says LuAnn Thompson of the Phoenix Gallery. The Phoenix gallery held this event for the first time for The Bellport Chamber of commerce and the Village. The submissions for the contest where an amazing selection of artwork to choose from. The Bellport Chamber and the Village selected the winning choice for the poster.

Due to the overwhelming talent that was submitted, there are 12 finalists in edition for this contest and the Chamber is looking into producing a calendar for Bellport that will be a local treat. Finalists include: Br. Gerard Cormier, Carolyn Harrington, Ruth Johnson, Winona McKenna, Donna Moraff, Sharon Way-Howard, Laurie Fosmire, Joel Furman, Suann Gude, Evan Hammer, and Edward Coster. Thank you to all our Finialist and our winner Steven Klein for your beautiful work and giving us the opportunity to enjoy it. The exhibit will be hanging in the gallery through April 28th, please stop down to view it all.

The Phoenix Gallery would like to thank the Bellport Chamber for this opportunititiy to host a great event like this and look forward to having the honor to host this event in the future.

The winner is an award-winning artist; Steven Klein.
Steven has been commissioned by countless organizations to create artwork, which includes the Franklin Mint, the New York Mets and Ronald Reagan for a Christmas tree lighting.

We are excited and fortunate, he chose to enter and paint a poster to represent Bellport. This making 2007 a very different poster.
